About

Anton du Preez is a composer, singer, and songwriter in Los Angeles. He is a regular performer and recording artist, and also composes and produces for various projects. His credits include a number of Lifetime films, singing for video games including Destiny, Diablo, and World of Warcraft, and he has released three singer-songwriter albums. He is also a Doctor of Physical Therapy, a registered therapy dog team, a US Navy veteran, and proudly gay.

In 2018, Anton earned his Master of Music in Film Composition, studying with two-time Emmy Award winning composer, Hummie Mann, in the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program at the Seattle Film Institute. In 2017, Anton was a featured soloist with the Seattle Symphony for their Celebrate Asia concert. He is a former member of the Seattle Symphony Chorale and works as a sessions artist for commercial music and soundtracks.

He has been singing since he took his first breath, embraced the trumpet and piano when he was 6 years old, and later picked up guitar and percussion. He honed his formal training at Nebraska Wesleyan University with a primary focus on vocal performance, as well as trumpet, piano, and composition, publishing/performing several original pieces for brass quintet, chorale, and pop ensembles.

After college, Anton served as a musician in the United Stated Navy as the Pacific Fleet Band’s lead vocalist/entertainer. One of the biggest highlights was performing for a crowd exceeding 10,000 people on the streets of Ambon, Indonesia. He also played other instruments as needed, while composing originals and arranging/orchestrating charts for each ensemble.

His greatest joy in life is sharing and experiencing music. Its ability to simultaneously convey and elicit emotion to enhance the experience of life and film, and to express complex feelings with the vast array of tiny nuances or grandiose breadth that words alone can never express. Anton hopes to share this experience with you!
