It's been quite a while since I've posted here. I've been incredibly busy in my master's program, studying with Hummie Mann to earn my Masters of Music in Film Composition. So far, it's been an invaluable experience, and it's such a joy spending most of my time composing again!
As part of the program, we have 9 studio sessions with professional musicians playing our music, 7 of which we conduct ourselves. I'm a bit nervous for that aspect, but it's all part of the process. So far, we've had 2 sessions: one for a short romantic comedy piece (orchestrated with a string section and solo saxophone), and one for a psychological thriller (orchestrated for woodwinds). I'll post them both when I've finished mixing them.
Currently, I'm working on a tension/chase sequence orchestrated for brass and percussion. Trumpet was my first instrument, so I'm finally in my comfort zone. ;-)
In addition to composing for the studio sessions, I'm also writing other music for various purposes. Some as a reimagining of movie and video game trailers, some for student films, some for other submissions.
I'll do better at keeping you updated!
